Martini Madness
Scott & Tracy were delighted see over 100 club members dressed in swanky finery for the 2nd Martini Madness. Kudos to all members who brought guests: we enjoyed meeting them.
It is easy to pinpoint why this event was a success: the incredible contributions of so many volunteers. The day started at noon with Francisco & his team arranging furniture, then our prep team jumped into high gear: Debbie & Gordon Foote, Susie Roberts, Dave Christensen and Joie Roehl. The furniture was arranged to encourage mingling around cocktail tables and intimate seating areas.
Jess Hill assembled a hard-working team of bartenders who kept delicious martinis flowing all evening: Linda Roehl, John Steckler and Cary Gould. Thank you, Jess, for your creative menu of top-shelf martinis.
Guests were efficiently welcomed into the party by Bill Field and Karin McLean, who handled finances & tickets with precision. Hope everyone enjoyed the elegant custom martini tickets Bill provided.
The galley cranked out appetizers all evening thanks to Ron & Carol Vogeli, their friend Dave, Butch Scherrer, Diede Janel and Kyle Bixby. And all those martini glasses were scrubbed clean by Wayne. Judith Pippin, Joie Roehl & Susie Roberts made sure our appetizer tables were both beautiful & bountiful at all times. No one went hungry thanks to these folks' teamwork AND the elegant appetizers donated by Kathy Montgomery, Margaret & Dave Krows, Willie & Peg, Linda & Jerry Dishneau, Butch Scherrer, Cary Gould and Laurie Way. Their generosity helped us keep the cost of food to $8 per person.
Speaking of keeping costs down, the Tarettes kindly loaned us their linens to add a touch of class to the event. Tracy has a new-found respect for anyone who has laundered & ironed all those tablecloths in the past! And Linda Dishneau was a great help with her advice on decorations.
Paul Frodesen is invaluable as our photographer, capturing all the fun. And we are so grateful to Jonelle Lind for tracking our RSVP's & advance payments. Applause for Francisco, Joie Roehl & Andy Gerde for putting the club back in order with us, and Greg Scott for fetching our martini tables home for us.
Vice Commodore Jennerich looked to the future, bought Tracy her third martini then asked if we'd organize this event again next year. Ed, we can't wait!
