2. Vice Commodore's Report
VICE COMMODORE’S REPORT
I am writing a short article this month because Nancy and I are headed to Italy, Greece and Turkey on a Princess Cruise and will be back on Oct. 14. We have never taken a cruise and were talked into it by QCYC member Dan Wilshin and wife Marilyn, This should be fun, Dan, and I like martinis and we are on a boat!
DOCKS
We are always looking for help on the Docks Committee, contact Art Mauldin. Art’s dad Wes, member #4, had a little heart work done the other day; he’s 90 and going strong. Get well.
Art has warned us that there will be some disruptions in the parking lot due to our standpipe project that is scheduled for October. One thing that will happen is that there will be fewer parking spots while this is in-process. If you park where it blocks fire lanes or other unmarked spaces, you will give us cause to review our towing policy. Please don’t.
HOUSE
Our Ship’s Store is complete. The open display certainly looks great and there are new items to look at, Thanks, Commodore Ed.
WINSLOW OUTSTATION
I don’t know if we’ll see much of Eric Wood for a while: he got roasted pretty good at the Sept 23rd meeting for locking his wife Barbara in the shower of their boat. 4 ½ hours, oh boy!
Commodore Ed has started looking at the final section of Dock B at Winslow and several modifications were mentioned for the new section. We would look at getting lower power/light pedestals and move the fire hose pipe away from the edge of the dock, as the boats moored next to them can be damaged. Gratings were also mentioned by several and will be discussed. We’re listening.
You will be seeing a volunteer signup form included with your October billing. Please take time to add your name to at least one of the choices and return it to us. Your help keeps our club a jewel of the Northwest.
