Docks Committee
By the time you read this, the standpipes project should be progressing. Your patience with the inconveniences of this large scale work is very much appreciated. Parking will be a major issue at times and boats moored on docks 1 and 3, may be moved outward in the slips and brought back in at the end of each day. We’ll be careful but please keep a close eye on your own moorings and power connections. If all goes by the plan, we should be done with this huge accomplishment by around the end of the year.
The draft curtains project needs for its team of members to plan the project and to make it begin to happen. A few persons have expressed interest in maybe guiding this project, but so far we have no committed leader. It’s crucial that we make this happen now.
Many smaller projects are on the task lists. We as members really do need to give to our club in these matters lest we be compelled to give in far less agreeable ways. The best glue we have to bond us together as a club of appreciative and friendly members is our willingness to volunteer. It’s at these projects and events that we forge the lasting friendships that are the future of our club.
Projects in need: Planking replacements, remounting and replacement of mooring cleats, safety ladder replacements and additions, and a lot more.
Big thanks and appreciation go to many persons right now. In the next issue of The Bilge Pump, plan to see a list of persons and tasks they’ve so willingly done for all of us. Let’s build that same list out to touch the future too.
