Minutes of Planning and Finance Meeting

May 4th, 2021 6:00 PM

 Meeting held remotely via Zoom Meetings

 

P&F Committee Members: Chairman P/BC - Mark Weiss, P/BC- Gerald Fey, P/BC- Mark Vanderwall, P/BC- Rick Ashleman, Jeff Ohlstrom, Commodore Terron Lindholme, Vice Commodore Margaret Krows, Rear Commodore Michele Bedner, Treasurer Joyce Carlson, 

Excused absence: Board Chairman Doug Wadden

 

Opening Comments: Meeting called to order at 6:10 pm by Chairman Mark Weiss 

Approval of Minutes: Minutes of April 6th, 2021 Unanimously approved

Commodores Report: The Commodore reported that the May Day, May Day Event was the first event of the year to have positive income!

Vice Commodores Report: The Vice Commodore reported that the AAC has a project that is not in the current 2021/2022 budget.   This project is to add acoustic tiles to the third deck.

Rear Commodores Report: The Rear Commodore reported that the temporary yellow entertainment tent may be a candidate for replacement in the 2022/2023 year. 

Board Chair Report: No Report.

Treasurer Report: The Treasurer reported that taxes, insurance, docks where the major expenses and none were unexpected. 

Action Item: Highlight the budget changes for the BOT.  This should include the changes to moorage rates and rollback of the electrical surcharge.

Old Business:

Docks 3

  • Mark Weiss reported that the Work Slip Move is still on track for the state to pay directly to the contractor and therefore will not affect our budget.

Budget for 2021

  • Budget was presented to the BOT and open for discussion at the April BOT meeting.  No discussion was had.
  • Budget planning doc has been reviewed

Flow charts dates to be updated.

Electrical VESC - Commodore reported that $7200 is needed for new breakers for the 30mA upgrades and that funds to support this can be found in the outstation budget.   The upgraded locking rings may have to be deferred to the upcoming year.   Excess funds moved to the capital asset fund should be able to cover the locking rings.

New Business:

Mark Weiss - Presented the moorage comparables and will share the comparison with the BOT.

Mark Weiss will send out the cost of memberships at the other clubs in the Grand 14 this week.

Rick Ashleman volunteered to update the dues increase pitch

Gerald Fey volunteered to create a timeline for a potential dues increase.
