There was no Correspondence.
The following people turned in Applications for Membership: Captain Lawrence Dubia, Captain John Blystone and Captain Chris Benson. Applications appeared to be proper and in good order. All were present and recognized.
Program: Commodore Grimm still reeling from the enjoyment of the recent sign of affection from Secretary Wood, declined to make a statement and the evening special presentation began. Captain Tom Kuhn spoke on the new website. He first noted that we had received, thanks to the effort of Captain Lewis Titland, 501C-3 tax status approval. This will allow us to have an auction, later this year, to support the purchase of four Optimus Dinghys for the Jr. Yacht Club. Corporate sponsorship logos would be possible on the sails. We are looking for donations to the auction.
Captain Kyle Bixby demonstrated some of the capabilities of the new website: including but not limited to locating members by first name(…trying to remember the person’s last name – just look up by first names etc) This will be very helpful for new members and those of us who suffer from CRS. He invited members to check out the new site. It is possible to add a picture of your boat to accompany your listed Annual information. Excellent job, Kyle et al.
Vice Commodore Yates reported that the Skylight Project(fire vents) cost came out $20 per vent less than the estimate. They are working with the contractor. Some of the roofs will need to have layers stripped away in order to install the new vents. The project should be halfway completed this year.
During the recent windstorm, some of the work floats received some damage and they are working to repair those ASAP.
There is now lighting on the new sign up front.
Rear Commodore McGillan reported that Everett Yacht Club, during their renovation, discovered an older, linen version of our burgee and donated it back to QCYC for our historical collection.
The Chain and Post Project Phase II needs to be completed down the driveway. We are looking for volunteers. Kudos for the design and construction of the posts so far: Jim Damery, P/C Daryl Anhalt, and Commodore Grimm.
Treasurer’s Report by Steve Farber indicated that it was tax time and the return was prepared by Captain Lewis Titland for the fiscal year ending 09/30/05. Although we are in a tax exempt category we do owe taxes on unrelated income (namely the bar). Financial reports will be out by the end of the month and posted on the new website. He also noted that a number of members remain unpaid but that Bruno and Luigi would soon visit these people. Those members may subsequently qualify but will be denied use of the handicap spaces at the club after these visits.

Payments are to be sent directly to Jess Hill at his address at 117 E. Louisa St., Seattle, 98102 bar opens at 5pm, dinner served at 6pm with the cigar and scotch portion to begin at 7:30pm
Opening Day – P/C Dave Krows reported festivities are coming into shape. We will have ribs and chicken on Friday night. A marimba band will be there. It should prove to be a huger(sic) event than last year. Slushies etc. (Even Seattle Yacht Club has made note of our new slushie machine).

New Business: Capt. Kyle Bixby will add a link to search RBAW membership under the public section of our web page.
Reception: Rear Commodore McGillan again recognized P/C Wes Mauldin as the senior member in attendance and Capt. Bob Beckman as the junior member in attendance. 49 members were present with 5 spouses and 6 guests plus 1 Tarette – Al Reiche.
Quarter Pot pulled by Nick Castrow: Captains Bill Field and Ken Henry won Friday lunches and Harry Brown won the Quarter Pot.
Good and Welfare Commodore Grimm’s mildly amusing story was overshadowed by the ever informative Doctor/PC Wes Mauldin who, in his usual delicate manner recommended a regular PSA test and prostate exam. He then went on to describe the procedure and the proper method of checking one’s prostate. He noted that a properly feeling prostate should feel like touching your thumb with your index finger. It should feel smooth. If it feels bumpy you may have a problem. Although, not stated, I’m sure that disposable latex gloves or a good washing of your finger would be in order. This procedure also seems like a good way to get in touch with your inner self.
Not to ignore the female members he also recommended checking breasts for lumps.
Meeting ended 20:44
Humbly and respectfully submitted,
Captain Paul Grimm
Secretary Pro-tem
