PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Rear Commodore McCroskey led the general membership in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.

SENIOR MEMBER RECOGNITION: Rear Commodore McCroskey announced and recognized Captain Glen Swindler, as the senior member in attendance.

READING OF THE MINUTES: The minutes were read and approved without amendment.

CORRESPONDENCE: He Secretary read letters of withdrawal from the following captains:

  • Bjorn Soli
  • Daniel Albanese
  • Lyle Graddon
  • Malcolm Leese

ACTION ON CORRESPONDENCE: Upon voice vote, the requests for withdrawal were accepted by voice vote.

PROGRAM: The program for the evening was a fine discussion on the practical applications of Nobeltec and other mapping software.

COMMODORE: Commodore David Krows mentioned that dues cards are available and he noted that the Friday Lunch after Thanksgiving is a great event, encouraging people to attend.

He reported that the bridge officers will be decorating the club on December 4th @ 6:00pm.

He also noted the following upcoming events:

  • 12/6 & 12/7 Lighted boat parade
  • 12/8 Special Peoples Cruise
  • 12/12 Tarettes Captains Dinner
  • 12/14 Childrens Christmas Party
  • 12/31 New Year’s Party

The commodore announced that wire had been pulled for the new alarm/emergency system. He also mentioned that Tarettes can get annuals and bilge pumps at the same cost as life members.

VICE-COMMODORE: No Report.

REAR COMMODORE: Rear Commodore McCroskey reported that Captain Gary Fisker has been doing a great job.

As for security, the Vice-Commodore has written letters to the police chief and the mayor. Police cars are coming into the lots on a more frequent basis.

NAME THE HOUSE: Vice-Commodore Richard McCroskey, in keeping with tradition, named the house in a very admirable fashion.

CHRISTMAS CRUISE: Chairman Ken Klett was looking for one more boat to act as a turn boat and asked members to help out.

TREASURER: Lewis Titland reported that the financial statement is completed and available.

He reported that starting January 1st, the club would be putting the name of the boat on the invoice, along with the size of the boat. He also reported that sixteen people still have not paid their dues.

FLEET CAPTAIN: Bob Randolph reported that the Gig Harbor Cruise is on Jan 3-5.

The Fleet Captain Introduced Randy Todd, the rear commodore of Hidden Harbor. Co-sponsoring Super Bowl Sunday.

REGATTA POWER: Captain Marv Elbon reported that the racing season begins January 11th and is looking for observers.

HOUSE: Chairman Jim Damery reported that the original eight bells bronze plaque has been relocated onto the eight bells memorial. The donation plaque has been relocated near the bar and the magazine racks moved. He reported that the world clock is currently behind the bar.

He announced new signs on the docks to instruct members what to do in an emergency and announced that the defibrillator will be relocated to a new position shortly.

VISITATION: Commodore Krows announced that Harris Johnson has a detached retina. Card being sent out.

SPECIAL PEOPLE’S CRUISE: Captain Barry Eberhardt reported on the upcoming cruise on December 8th, with the Captain’s meeting at 1:30.

OLD BUSINESS: None

RECEPTION: R/C McCroskey recognized late-comer Captain David Hurlbut as the senior member in attendance. Thirty-two members were present with six guests. Two past commodores were present and recognized. Captain Barry Eberhart was the junior member in attendance. Captain Bob Marcelynas, member in waiting, was in attendance.

QUARTER POT: Pulling for Friday lunches and quarter pot, Captains Bob Morrice and Bob Kindal won Friday lunches. Captain Barry Eberhardt was present to win.
