CALL TO ORDER: Commodore Baker called the meeting to order in the Clubhouse at 1932 hours.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Vice-Commodore Krows led the general membership in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.

SENIOR MEMBER RECOGNITION: Rear Commodore Anhalt announced and recognized Past Commodore Lynn Montgomery, as the senior member in attendance.

READING OF THE MINUTES: Secretary read the minutes of the previous meeting and they were approved as read.

CORRESPONDENCE: The Secretary read letters of reciprocity from the following yacht clubs:

  • Tacoma Yacht Club
  • Santa Monica Windjammers Yacht Club
  • Everett Yacht Club
  • Edmonds Yacht Club
  • Longview Yacht Club

The Secretary read a letter of thanks from the Boyer Children’s Clinic and also read a request for use of the club by Captain Andrew Grisham for September 3, 2003. No conflict was noted

ACTION ON CORRESPONDENCE: None

APPLICATIONS FOR MEMBERSH IP: None

INITIATION: In an initiation ceremony, Commodore Baker administered the oath of membership to Captain Linda Peterson.

COMMODORE: Commodore Baker reported that the events of the summer were tremendous successes and extended many thanks to all the chairpersons and members for their help at the events.

The Commodore also reported on the following upcoming events:

  • Friday Night Social – Past Commodores
  • Road Rally September 15th
  • Entertainment Night 9/27
  • Microsoft Event – October 3rd
  • Tarette Steak Fry
  • Commodore’s Ball October 23rd

Lastly, he reported that Microsoft is donating $8,000 to the club for the Microsoft evening on October 3rd.

VICE-COMMODORE: Vice Commodore Krows reported that the milfoil project was a success and reported that the neighbors have quieted down.

The Vice-Commodore reported that there had been plenty of movement for moorage at the club and mentioned to members who were waiting for moorage to make sure they had the correct phone numbers recorded with the club.

He also reported that if you are interested in working on committees, let one of the bridge officers know about it.

REAR COMMODORE: Rear Commodore Anhalt reported that the security gate is moving forward and noted that it was a real compromise between groups, including the bridge, board and the AAC. He reported that it should be completed by the end of the week.

Lasted, he noted that the willow tree is in need of trimming and will be looking at bids to trim it.

TREASURER: Treasurer Lewis Titland reported that the new billing invoice is coming out, with dues and moorage separated for ease of reading. Included in the billing will be notes on Visa and MasterCard payment options and an RBAW application.

BOARD OF TRUSTEES: Chairman Dawson reported that several items were worked on but mentioned that an alarm system will be put on the docks to call attention to where a problem might be occurring.

He also noted that a moorage agreement would be executed between the club and members. It includes power, heaters, proof of insurance, copy of registration. etc.

Lastly, he mentioned that the board received a presentation by Past Commodore Oberg on spousal membership. He noted that the board would be giving the proposal a full hearing and present it at different venues over the course of the next few months.

RECOGNITION: The Commodore thanked the bridge for all their help and thanked all the committee members. He awarded the Commodore’s Trophy to three members:

  • Ron Rolstad
  • Steve Farber
  • Orrin Phillips

FLEET CAPTAIN: Fleet Captain Randolph reported that the extended summer cruises was a success and is working on next season’s schedule.

MEMBERSHIP: Eric Wood announced that Linda Peterson makes the 389th active member and is working on getting to full complement. He announced that the Board passed an initiative to allow new applicants to split their initiation over three years.

REGATTA POWER: Chairman Bob Lindal reported that QCYC won the Barusch and Castagna Cup and Filucy Bay race was won by Captain John Tong. Queen City took six of the top eight places in the ICR.

ROAD RALLY: Ron Nolan reported that the road rally is September 15th. Everyone is encouraged to attend.

FLEET SURGEON: Past Commodore reported on the coastal navigation by our Fleet Surgeon and announced the DeCook’s new email address: kdgos@winlock.org(link sends email)

NEW BUSINESS: Captain David Williams inquired about insurance and the timing of obtaining the necessary paperwork. A discussion ensued and the issue was clarified.

RECEPTION: R/C Anhalt again recognized Past Commodore Lynn Montgomery as the senior member in attendance. Fifty members were present with eight guests Six past commodores were present and recognized. Captain Linda Peterson was the junior member in attendance.

QUARTER POT: Captain Lynn Montgomery pulled for Friday lunches and quarter pot. Captains McCroskeyy and Nolan won Friday lunches. Captain Shoenemann was not present to win the quarter pot.

GOOD & WELFARE: Commodore Baker provided good and welfare.

The meeting was adjourned at 2128 hours.
