CALL TO ORDER: Commodore Grimm called the meeting to order in the Clubhouse at 1935 hours.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Vice Commodore Yates led the general membership in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.

SENIOR MEMBER RECOGNITION: Rear-Commodore McGillin recognized Captain Gary Stone as the senior member in attendance.

READING OF THE MINUTES: Secretary Wood read the minutes of the previous meeting and they were approved as read.

CORRESPONDENCE: The Secretary read a letter of withdrawal from Captain Ron Leveridge, which was unanimously approved by the membership.

APPLICATIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP: Applications were read from Captains Tammie Hogan, Dave Christensen, Linda Roehl, Thomas Sweeny, and Glen Bowser, all of whom were present and recognized.

COMMODORE: Commodore Grimm reported that the Architectural Advisory Committee had reviewed the “paving brick” project, and updated members on the milfoil eradication project. He stated that a committee was being formed to help mitigate the effects to the Club of the 520 Bridge Project.

VICE COMMODORE: Vice Commodore Yates reported on work to the main station docks, and noted that it would be about 1-1/2 weeks until the painting project was done.

REAR COMMODORE: Rear Commodore McGillin reminded members of the work party scheduled for the upcoming weekend, and noted the new gate at the entrance to the Club (the original gate was damaged in an accident). He reported that the smoke vent project on the docks was underway, led by Captain Rod Tillman, and thanked Captain Dick Geving for his work on the Club’s security system. He also thanked Captain Ed Jennerich for his work increasing the Club’s membership during the year.

TREASURER: Treasurer-elect John Rogers reported that the Club is within budget, and summarized noteworthy items from that budget.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS

FLEET CAPTAIN: Fleet Captain Paul Grimm reported on the successful Mid-Sound Cruise, and awarded screw-up flags to Commodore Grimm and Captain Jess Hill.

BOARD OF TRUSTEES: Chairman Gary Stone reported that the Board continues to work on those ideas submitted during the 10-year planning event earlier in the year. He also asked for 520 Bridge committee volunteers.

MEMBERSHIP: Chairman Ed Jennerich reported that 31 new members have been brought into the Club this year, bringing the Club to 383 Active Members, and thanked members of his committee for their work.

REGATTA POWER: Captain Bob Lindal reported on the Barusch Championship and the North American Invitational race, both of which were won by P/C Dick Timmerman. The next race will be the Stimson Race.

FISHING DERBY: P/C Lynn Montgomery reminded members of the upcoming weekend’s fishing derby at Bainbridge Island, and noted some of the prizes to be awarded.

WEB SITE: Captain Kyle Bixby described the workings of the web site, including the fact that we are using shared servers, which is why the site is sometimes slow to respond.

ENTERTAINMENT NIGHT: Lupe Weiss described the upcoming event, for which reservations will be required.

COMMODORE’S BALL: Commodore Grimm reminded attendees of the $50/person October 7 event, at which black tie is optional. Reservations are required by October 1st.

OLD BUSINESS: None.

NEW BUSINESS: None.

RECEPTION: R/C McGillin again recognized Captain Gary Stone as the senior member in attendance; Captain Jeff Madera was the junior member in attendance. 54 members were present along with several spouses and guests. Four Past Commodores were present and recognized.

QUARTER POT: Captain Larry Keeler pulled for Friday lunches and quarter pot. Captains Kyle Bixby and Nick Castro won Friday lunches, and Captain Larry Keeler won the quarter pot.
