In Attendance: Captains Doug Genord, P/C Terron Lindholme, absent , Commodore Margaret Krows, Vice
Commodore Michele Bedner, Rear Commodore Michael Day, Charlie Soffel, Diane Schultz,
Rodger McKinley, Gary Turner, and Miguel Suarez, absent.

The meeting was called to order at 19:04 hrs. by Chairman Doug Genord.

1. Opening Remarks: Chairman Genord thanked the BOT for all the hard work on recent issues.


2. Administrative:
3. Approval of Minutes: Meeting of April 11th, 2022
Prior BOT meeting minutes as submitted by Gary Turner - Secretary, were approved.

4. Membership Report: Val Ohlstrom
a. 3 applications for membership were to be reviewed.
b. Natalie Rush & Kayode Bristol-Approved, Karen & Vince Robel - Approved, Rachelle Ornan-
Approved
c. 3 applications waiting for presentation.

5. Treasurer’s Report: Joyce Carlson Highlights:

Financials Review:
April electrical billing was incorrect and will be rebilled to correct the mistake. A solution is
under consideration and the process will be in place for the next billing cycle.

• Total Other Expense of $18,459.72
• Net Income of $1,031,551.64
• Committee Expenses of $58,713.34 • Bainbridge Income - $(35,670.32)

Currently there are a total of 584 members including:

A motion was made, seconded and approved to move 4 active members to Life Membership status.

An update on membership is provided on the financial statement.

6. Committee Reports:
A. Planning & Finance: Mark Weiss –
a. Budget for 2022-23 had been drafted. Currently addressing an $80k by reviewing planned
capital project expenditures.
b. Investment recommendations, new committee will present to BOT ideas for new investment
strategies to include risk/reward assessments, and different methods for same.
B. Moorage: Dan Heffernan –
a. No report.

C. Outstation: Eric Wood –
a. Salt Spring Marina agreement is signed. Make reservations online.
b. Telegraph Harbor is a must visit!
c. BI work party a huge success. 45 participants!
d. Summer hosts are lined up for the summer.
e. Nothing to happen on the ramp/utility project at least until August.
D. Insurance: Dean Lentgis – No report.

E. Architectural Advisory: Doug Henrikson –No report

F. 520 Update: Tom Johnson/Mark Weiss –
a. Progress on permits for dock 3 relocation.
G. Website: Gerald Fey –
a. No report

H. By-Laws- Scott Grimm –
a. No Report

7. Bridge Reports:

A. Commodores Report: Margaret Krows -
a. Pontoon boat was damaged during opening day. More training needed for operators.


B. Vice Commodores Report: Michele Bedner -
a. QCYC policy regarding storing items on docks is strictly prohibited. Dock lines, steps,
and power cords are the only exceptions. Pg. 155 in the new annual.
C. Rear Commodores Report: Michael Day –
a. Inspector looked at our parking lot to assess damage resulting from the flood. Report
forthcoming.

b. Push to engage more members in the junior boating program.

c. An attendee fell during the opening day festivities. They are okay and home
recovering.

8. Old Business:
a. Annual audit to take place June 2nd or 3rd.

9. New Business:
a. Moorage rule revision proposed to add vessel assessment to measuring committee duties. This is
to prevent "project vessels" from gaining moorage.
b. No dinghy storage at the club. Dinghy on the trailer at Dock 1 belongs to the sailing club.
